Graduates of the program can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. The program also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict. Graduates will receive a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate recognizing their completion of the program.

Monique Fragua will take over as the new President and CEO of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) and Indian Pueblos Marketing Inc. on April 1. She will follow in the footsteps of Michael Canfield, who is retiring from the position March 31 after serving in the leadership role since 2012 and who is the immediate past Chair of Visit Albuquerque’s Board of Directors. Monique has served as IPCC’s Chief Operating Officer since 2022. Congratulations to Monique and tremendous gratitude to Mike!
Two Visit Albuquerque Partners are James Beard Award semifinalists. Campo at Los Poblanos is up for Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program. Chef Sean Sinclair at Level 5 is up for Best Southwest Chef. The prestigious awards recognize exceptional talent in the culinary industry. Finalist nominees will be announced April 2, and winners will be announced June 16. Kudos on the achievement, and good luck in the next round!

The New Mexico Restaurant Association is launching Albuquerque Restaurant Week April 4-13. Restaurants can sign up now to be part of the event. Restaurants will get lots of exposure and promotion, bringing in new diners. Hotels can submit “Stay and Eat” deals with their on-site restaurants to encourage guests to dine and stay overnight. Visit Albuquerque is seeking individuals to volunteer at its two visitor centers located in Historic Old Town Albuquerque and the Sunport. Volunteers will work 3.5-hour shifts once a week or on weekends. This commitment requires customer service training and knowledge of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. Visit Albuquerque provides customer service training and training on Albuquerque through Albuquerque Community Experience classes. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to volunteer at sporting events and conferences. Being an ambassador for your city and state is a fun and exciting experience that will allow you to meet people visiting from around the world!
