Know Before You Go
Before your visit it’s helpful to know a few key things about the local environment, especially the altitude and weather. Being prepared will help you stay comfortable and make the most of your time in Albuquerque.
High Altitude:
Albuquerque is located at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet above sea level. Visitors who aren’t accustomed to higher altitudes may notice mild effects such as increased thirst or feeling tired more quickly. To stay comfortable, we recommend drinking plenty of water, incorporating electrolytes as needed, and pacing your consumption of alcohol and caffeine while your body adjusts.
Typical Weather Conditions:
November in Albuquerque brings noticeably cooler weather, with daytime temperatures usually ranging from the mid-50s to mid-60s°F (13–19°C). Mornings and evenings can be quite chilly, often dipping into the 30s and 40s°F (1–9°C), so warmer layers or a jacket are recommended. The air stays dry, so sun protection and plenty of water remain important, especially for outdoor activities under the clear desert skies.
