Albuquerque’s vibrant culinary scene is ever evolving, with new restaurants and bars opening every month. Here’s a handful of new places to visit that have opened in the past year.

Afghan Kebab House

Located in downtown Albuquerque, Afghan Kebab House serves traditional food from Afghanistan. You can taste the hospitality in each dish. Try the lamb achar, a flavorful Afghan stew, or the qabuli palow, a signature dish from Afghanistan featuring lamb or beef seasoned with spices. 

Brekki Brekki

For your breakfast fix at any time of the day, make a stop at Brekki Brekki. Visit one of their two locations on the Eastside or Westside for typical brunch fare with a New Mexican twist. Order the sweet red chile chicken biscuit for the perfect balance between sweet and savory.

Char

Char is the reimagined restaurant inside Hotel Andaluz. Focusing on wood-fired contemporary cuisine, the restaurant has the only Josper grill in the state. Order wagyu sirloin, filet mignon or other cuts of beef, all served on a sizzling hot stone.

DWTNR

Inside ARRIVE Albuquerque is the cocktail bar and lounge DWTNR. This hip restaurant serves all-day brunch and dinner alongside a menu of fun drinks like the rhinestone cowboy and cattle call. Be sure to queue up a couple songs on the jukebox!

G. Toti

Named after the market where a bootlegger was arrested for selling alcohol during Prohibition, G. Toti is a rooftop bar at Hotel Andaluz  with a menu that pays tribute to cocktails of the late ’30s and early ’40s. Order a signature cocktail or a drink from an extensive wine and beer list.

Little Bear at Sawmill

Little Bear’s fourth location recently opened inside Sawmill Market. This local coffee shop focuses on the unique and delicious coffee flavors that they source, roast and serve. Try a Little Bear latte, made with Little Bear’s signature cedar vanilla syrup. 

Miches

A michelada and food from Miches.

Miches brings Mexican seafood to Albuquerque’s South Valley. Choose from a wide variety of ceviche and other traditional Mexican dishes. Order a michelada to pair with your meal, prepared exactly how you like it.

Tula’s Kitchen

Tula’s Kitchen opened a second location near Balloon Fiesta Park earlier this year. The warm, inviting atmosphere matches the comfort food on the menu. End your meal with a piñon brownie sundae, the perfect combination of brownie, ice cream, red chile caramel sauce and piñon.
