Visit Albuquerque
Albuquerque is highlighted as a location for meetings, conventions and trade shows in an advertorial section published by American City Business Journals, the organization that produces Albuquerque Business First and more than 40 other local business newspapers. The section includes five articles that showcase the advantages of meeting in Albuquerque:
The advertorial section is being promoted with banner ads targeted to Business Journal readers in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Portland and Washington, D.C. These cities are the homes of national associations, corporations and government groups that conduct meetings. The New Mexico Tourism Department partnered with Visit Albuquerque on the promotion, covering half of the cost. The articles will be live until April 15, 2023.
The 2023 Official Albuquerque Visitors Guides have arrived and are ready for you to share with your customers, clients and guests! As a benefit of your Partnership, you are entitled to a supply of Visitors Guides to display and hand out. Three days have been scheduled for Partners to pick up Visitors Guides in bulk:
During these days, you may pick up boxes of Visitors Guides at the loading dock of Visit Albuquerque’s building at 20 First Plaza Center NW, near 2nd Street and Copper Avenue.. Partners will be responsible for loading boxes in their own vehicles. Each box of Visitors Guides contains 50 copies and weighs approximately 13 pounds. Please see this map for directions and additional details.
Scott Craighead, Vice President of Sales, Services & Sports, and Tabitha Stallworth, Senior National Sales Manager, exhibited at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Expo! Expo! in Louisville, Kentucky. Expo! Expo!, known as“the show for shows,” brought together more than 1,700 exhibition and event industry professionals.
Visit Albuquerque restaurant Partner William R. Stafford, owner of Sadie’s of New Mexico, offered attendees samples of Sadie’s famous salsa, which helped generate a steady flow of traffic to Visit Albuquerque’s exhibit booth and dozens of business leads over the course of the two-day event.
In addition to exhibiting, Visit Albuquerque sponsored the IAEE Rocky Mountain Chapter Reception. Over 60 people visited the reception, including event and exhibition producing organizations such as Informa Markets, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Society for Mining Metallurgy & Exploration, American Public Human Services Association and American Traffic Safety Services Association.
Visit Albuquerque volunteers delivered cookies from Golden Crown Panaderia to the Albuquerque Transit team to express Visit Albuquerque’s gratitude for all their hard work. From offering a friendly face to visitors to providing an accessible transportation system, their hard work keeps our city running.
Visit Albuquerque is thrilled to welcome Erin Rheinschild to the team as the Vice President of Destination Development and Community Engagement. On Dec. 17, Albuquerque hosted the 17th annual New Mexico Bowl at University Stadium. It was an exciting game that saw the BYU Cougars defeat the SMU Mustangs in a close matchup, 24 to 23. Visit Albuquerque played a key role in ensuring the success of the game and the presentation of Albuquerque to fans and viewers. A 30-second Visit Albuquerque commercial that promoted travel to the city aired twice during the live broadcast of the game on ABC, generating nearly 4.1 million impressions. In addition, Visit Albuquerque had an on-screen presence throughout the game on the field and along the sidelines, and the game announcers shared scenic video footage of the city during breaks in game play. Visit Albuquerque’s hot air balloon was tethered at the Fan Fest prior to the game, providing the perfect backdrop for souvenir photos in Visit Albuquerque’s life-size frame. The New Mexico Bowl is usually aired on ESPN, but the broadcast moved to ABC this year due to an NFL scheduling decision. The game had the best network broadcast ratings in its time slot.
