The spring and summer travel seasons are just around the corner, and visitors will be eager to explore Albuquerque. That means now is the perfect time to strengthen your team’s customer service skills and enhance their knowledge of the city’s offerings and attractions.
To help, Visit Albuquerque is thrilled to announce that our popular ACE program is returning with custom training for employees in the hospitality industry. The ACE program is designed to develop Albuquerque Community Experience professionals, who are people who can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. It also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict.

This campaign will encourage bike enthusiasts and travelers from targeted markets to select Albuquerque as their next cycling destination.

This year will bring the 50th Balloon Fiesta, and we are eager to start promotions for this landmark event right away. We want to include you in these Balloon Fiesta promotional efforts. If you are offering a Balloon Fiesta/Fall package, deal, special, tour, event or any other promotions, we want to know about it and share it! Packages and deals created around an event or a season are a great way to encourage visitors to your business. And Balloon Fiesta and the surrounding fall events create a great opportunity to do just that.
We encourage you to start thinking about 50th Balloon Fiesta offerings now. Get creative and think outside the box! Aside from coupons, some promotional ideas might include:

On Feb. 15 and 16, Visit Albuquerque hosted a Winter Virtual Media Mission that included one-on-one appointments with 10 travel writers affiliated with a variety of top-tier regional and national publications. The goal of the mission was to further drive coverage in key markets while also keeping Albuquerque top of mind as travel continues to rebound. Writers in attendance also received a gift package that included local items and goodies to create an authentic and interactive #TrueABQ experience.
In response to the ongoing hiring challenges facing our industry, the Department of Workforce Solutions (DWS) has partnered with the New Mexico Tourism Department to develop a talent recruitment campaign that will promote leisure and hospitality job openings to prospective job seekers – and they want to promote your jobs for hire!
The marketing campaign will direct job seekers to the newly created DWS Hospitality Job Board, and posting your available tourism-related job postings for this campaign is easy and free. This is a great opportunity to let job seekers know about the amazing career opportunities in our industry.

The Visit Albuquerque Sales team has been hard at work to ensure a strong, successful return of meetings and conventions to our city.
Earlier this month, Visit Albuquerque Associate Director of Sales Larry Atchison attended the Religious Conference Management Association’s (RCMA) Annual Conference in Sacramento, Calif. With more than 200 meeting planners registered from 143 faith-based organizations in attendance, Larry was able to meet individually with a wide variety of high quality contacts in the industry. Larry is pictured, right, at the event with Erin Ingler, Senior Account Manager at Arrowhead Conferences and Events.
MovieMaker Magazine announced that for the fourth year in a row, Albuquerque is the No. 1 Best Place to Live and Work as a moviemaker in 2022. Albuquerque outranked some major competitors including Toronto, Atlanta, Montreal and Boston in the Big Cities category. With major production studios like Netflix and NBC Universal building headquarters in the city and strong independent film production, Albuquerque is becoming well known as a national hub for film. We’re thrilled to see this growing industry and its accompanying job growth and are eager to see its continuing impact on the tourism industry as well.
