Visit Albuquerque’s Albuquerque Community Experience (ACE) training program is designed to brush up your employees’ customer service skills and strengthen their knowledge about the city. Graduates of the program can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. The program also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict. Graduates will receive a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate recognizing their completion of the program.

Visit Albuquerque’s Annual Meeting is just around the corner! Save the date for Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the Albuquerque Convention Center. All Partners are welcome to attend this free event that recognizes the impact of the travel and tourism industry in Albuquerque. We’ll reflect on the progress made over the past year and preview the road ahead, focusing on the opportunities that shape our path forward. Two Visit Albuquerque Partners recently received Destination Forward grants from the New Mexico Tourism Department for FY26. The New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society received a $100,000 grant to conduct an economic impact study. The Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum Foundation received a $257,500 grant to help fund the development of an outdoor interactive exhibit and event space. Additionally, the Albuquerque International Sunport received a $75,000 Accessibility Pilot Grant to install the first universal changing station at the airport.
Visit Albuquerque Partners that received Tourism Event Growth and Sustainability grants from the state Tourism Department were Day of the Tread, Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque, the Gathering of Nations PowWow, the ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® and Festival Flamenco Alburquerque. Congratulations to all!
Hilton Garden Inn Albuquerque Airport wrapped up a $2 million renovation project. The project took three months to complete, and includes updates to all 107 guest rooms, the banquet and ballrooms and other public spaces. The public is welcome to see the upgrades during an open house on Aug. 19 beginning at 9 a.m. Congratulations on the renovations!

Sheraton Albuquerque Airport has completed a multi-million dollar renovation at its property. Its 276 guest rooms, the lobby and public meeting spaces all got updates. Kudos on the refreshed spaces!
Fairfield Inn & Suites Albuquerque Airport and TownePlace Suites Albuquerque Airport completed full-property renovations last month. Fairfield Inn & Suites includes new carpets and flooring, updated furniture, a redesigned breakfast area and a refreshed lobby space. Townplace Suites includes new carpets and furnishings in guest rooms, upgraded kitchen amenities and refreshed public spaces. Congratulations on the new look!

The Marriott Residence Inn & Highlands Central Market broke ground earlier this month along Central Avenue in the Sycamore Metropolitan Redevelopment Area. Congratulations to Titan Development, Ltd., Sundarum Builders and the City of Albuquerque for this exciting, community-driven project.

The New Mexico Tourism Department’s “Living Legends” ad campaign has been named a finalist in the 2025 Skift IDEA Awards for creative content. The campaign features the stories of notable New Mexicans. The Tourism Department also was recently recognized as a finalist in the U.S. Travel Association’s ESTO Awards for its earned media campaign for the Burning of Zozobra’s 100th anniversary.
Vara Winery and Distillery was named the Lodi Sparkling Winery of the Year, and earned five medals at the New York International Wine Competition. Vara also received five awards at the Sunset International Wine Competition. Congratulations on the awards!
I Scream Ice Cream has been a part of the Albuquerque community for over 20 years. Their classic aesthetic and delicious fare has ensured their success over the years. Recently, though, they've gone viral on their Instagram accounts not once, not twice, but several times. Featuring members of their staff and taking advantage of trending audio, their videos have garnered millions of views.

Production of the 2026 Official Albuquerque Visitors Guide is already underway! The guide is a vital resource for travelers looking for ideas for where to stay, eat, shop and play in our city. Visit Albuquerque is seeking individuals to volunteer at its two visitor centers located in historic Old Town and the Albuquerque Sunport. Volunteers will work 3.5-hour shifts once a week or on weekends. This commitment requires customer service training and knowledge of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. Visit Albuquerque provides customer service training and training on Albuquerque through our Albuquerque Community Experience (ACE) classes. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to volunteer at sporting events and conferences. Being an ambassador for your city and state is a fun and exciting experience that will allow you to meet people visiting from around the world!
