ACE Your Team’s Customer Service Skills and Knowledge of Albuquerque

Visit Albuquerque’s Albuquerque Community Experience (ACE) training program is designed to brush up your employees’ customer service skills and strengthen their knowledge about the city. Graduates of the program can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. The program also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict.

A four-phase, multimillion-dollar renovation has been completed at Embassy Suites by Hilton Albuquerque. All 261 two-room guest suites were updated, including new furniture and fixtures.

Albuquerque ER & Hospital Opens New Location

Albuquerque ER & Hospital opened a second location last month. The microhospital offers many of the same services available at a larger emergency room. The new location is near the corner of Montgomery and Wyoming on the east side of Albuquerque. Congratulations!

ZAHR Archery Debuts Larger Arena

ZAHR Archery recently unveiled an upgraded arena that is 1.5 times bigger than the previous space. The larger space will allow ZAHR to accommodate six more people per game to play archery dodgeball.

World Balloon Celebrates 50th Anniversary

World Balloon, the first ballooning company in New Mexico, is celebrating 50 years of professional ballooning in 2023. Started by Sid Cutter in 1973, the company is now owned by retired Albuquerque Police Commander Murray Conrad, Julie Conrad and Jim Kosinski. Congratulations on the milestone!

Tucanos Reopens After Remodeling

Tucanos Brazilian Grill reopened last month after remodeling the interior and the patio of the restaurant. Check out new furniture, flooring and walls inspired by the colorful sidewalks of Rio de Janeiro.

Ski New Mexico Executive Director Retires

George Brooks has retired after serving as the Executive Director of Ski New Mexico for 17 years. Christy Germscheid has taken over as Executive Director. She has worked in the New Mexico ski industry for almost 25 years. We’ve enjoyed a great partnership and relationship with George. He is a legend in the NM ski industry, and we wish him all the best in retirement! We look forward to working with Christy in this new chapter for Ski New Mexico.

After a car crashed into the center July 28 and a weekend closure, the NHCC is back up and running with its programming continuing largely as planned. Visit Albuquerque Volunteer Spotlight

Dave Fontaine

Dave Fontaine has been a volunteer with Visit Albuquerque for about 16 years. He’s a retired school administrator and wanted to share his knowledge of Albuquerque and New Mexico. Dave said he’s found his time at the Sunport Visitors Center very rewarding. “I love every minute to ensure we represent our mission in the most positive manner,” Dave said. “Helping our guests to find their way around our city and state and to ensure their time here is enjoyable and educational. There are so many aspects to the assignment and I enjoy being of assistance and being a guide.”
