ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Not sure how to celebrate Father’s Day this year? Bring dad to the annual Father’s Day Fiesta/Dia del Padre at the Zoo on June 19 for wild times and great Latin music. The event will include exhibits from local businesses, prize giveaways and discovery stations about great dads in the animal kingdom.

Four bands perform on the Zoo Stage: Mariachi Tradicional at 1 p.m., Grupo Kontratiempo at 2 p.m., Grupo Innovación at 3 p.m. and Tropicalisimo Apache at 4 p.m.. Father’s Day Fiesta/Dia del Padre is sponsored by Univision Nuevo Mexico, Telefutura, José 105.9 FM and La Tricolor 1450 AM.

“Father’s Day Fiesta allows dad to relax while enjoying the sights and sounds of the zoo,” said Maryann Torrez, Operations and Events Supervisor. “Wonderful activities and performances make the day an extra special celebration of fathers.”

Free Park-and-Ride service is available from the Aquarium and Botanic Garden. Simply park at the New York and Central parking area and our shuttles transport you to the Zoo. Park-and-Ride hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Come early to discover some of the greatest animal dads, including parrots, wolves, meerkats and even roaches. Discovery stations will open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The event is included with regular admission. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Picnics are welcome, but alcohol may not be brought onto BioPark grounds.
