Visit Albuquerque Unveils New Immersive Trade Show Booth
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (Aug. 28, 2024) – Attendees who stop by the Visit Albuquerque booth at upcoming trade shows will now experience a new, immersive display that integrates cultural elements with modern trade show innovation.
Making its debut to an audience of 5,000 association professionals and industry partners at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, earlier this month, the exhibit booth was created to captivate attendees with a rich and authentic representation of Albuquerque’s vibrant culture. Designed by Visit Albuquerque and fabricated by EXHIB-IT!, the booth features an array of thoughtfully curated elements that transport visitors straight to the heart of the city. The booth is currently being showcased at Connect Marketplace, attended by over 3,000 event professionals and industry partners, taking place Aug. 27-29 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“We are proud to present this new booth, which truly embodies the spirit of Albuquerque,” said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. “The final product not only highlights the unique cultural characteristics of our city but also provides an engaging experience for attendees. It’s a fantastic way to share the essence of Albuquerque with a wider audience.”
The booth transcends traditional trade show presentations with its striking features, including a custom flooring that sets a new standard beyond the usual trade show carpet. The booth's floor features printed vinyl that recreates the texture and look of traditional Saltillo tiles. It also incorporates vigas, or wooden beams. These beams, a staple in traditional Southwestern architecture, provide a genuine feel of New Mexico’s architectural style and history.
Central to the booth’s design are back walls that mimic adobe brick and are adorned with traditional chile ristras, adding a colorful and authentic touch reflective of New Mexico’s culinary traditions and iconic export. These walls serve as a backdrop for displays of local Pueblo pottery, showcasing the rich artistry and craftsmanship of the region’s Native American heritage.
Designed to be flexible, the booth can be installed in a 20-foot by 10-foot configuration or in a 10-by-10 footprint. The new booth design also allows space for creative activations, such as virtual reality hot air balloon rides offered by Jesse Sansom of Albuquerque-based AIRscape – a highlight of Visit Albuquerque’s presence at both ASAE and Connect Marketplace – or punched tin demonstrations offered by fifth generation tinsmith Jason Younis y Delgado. These types of interactive booth experiences draw attendees to the booth, giving Visit Albuquerque’s sales team the opportunity to engage in more meaningful discussions about the city as a top destination for meetings and events.
“This new booth elevates Visit Albuquerque’s presence at national trade shows and helps us stand out from other destinations,” said Armenta. “Its unique and authentic design draws attendees to our space and assists in building and maintaining relationships with meetings, sports and event organizers in order to bring more events to the city, increase visitation and bolster the local economy.”
