Know Before You Go
Before your visit it’s helpful to know a few key things about the local environment, especially the altitude and weather. Being prepared will help you stay comfortable and make the most of your time in Albuquerque.
High Altitude:
Albuquerque is located at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet above sea level. Visitors who aren’t accustomed to higher altitudes may notice mild effects such as increased thirst or feeling tired more quickly. To stay comfortable, we recommend drinking plenty of water, incorporating electrolytes as needed, and pacing your consumption of alcohol and caffeine while your body adjusts.
Typical Weather Conditions:
July in Albuquerque brings warm, sunny days and mild evenings. Daytime temperatures typically range from the upper 80s to low 90s°F (31–34°C), while mornings and evenings can cool into the 60s°F (16–21°C). Lightweight, breathable clothing is comfortable during the day, with a light layer helpful for cooler evenings. Albuquerque’s high-desert climate remains relatively dry, so hydration and sun protection are recommended, especially when spending time outdoors.
