Before your visit it’s helpful to know a few key things about the local environment, especially the altitude and weather. Being prepared will help you stay comfortable and make the most of your time in Albuquerque.
High Altitude:
Albuquerque is located at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet above sea level. Visitors who aren’t accustomed to higher altitudes may notice mild effects such as increased thirst or feeling tired more quickly. To stay comfortable, we recommend drinking plenty of water, incorporating electrolytes as needed, and pacing your consumption of alcohol and caffeine while your body adjusts.
Typical Weather Conditions:
June in Albuquerque is warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s°F (29–34°C). Mornings and evenings are more comfortable, generally cooling down into the 50s and 60s°F (10–19°C). Lightweight clothing is ideal during the day, with a light layer for early mornings or after sunset. The high desert climate remains dry, so staying hydrated and using sun protection is especially important when spending time outdoors.
