With beautiful weather and lots of sunshine, Albuquerque is the perfect place to enjoy a park. There are nearly 300 parks across the city. Whether you're looking for a relaxing place to have a picnic or somewhere to play a game of basketball or tennis, there is a park to suit your needs. Albuquerque is also home to many skate parks for in-line skaters, BMX bicyclists and skateboarders.
There are almost 48 acres to explore at Mariposa Basin Park. There are activities for the whole family with five youth ball
fields, a volleyball court, a basketball court, horseshoe pits and a jogging path. Located in the Taylor Ranch neighborhood of northwest Albuquerque, it is a great area for picnics as well as watching birds gather at the pond.
North Domingo Baca Park
North Domingo Baca Park has more than 50 acres of open space. A playground is just one of the amenities available. There is a picnic area, a leash-free dog park and a skate park. Located in the Northeast Heights, North Domingo Baca Park is near Tin Can Alley and Gruet Winery.
Loma del Norte Park in northeast Albuquerque has two tennis courts and two soccer fields. There are two playgrounds for children to explore along with a basketball court. It is a dog-friendly park, with almost 10 acres of grass.
Los Altos Park has recreational opportunities for everyone. There are four lit softball fields, six lit tennis courts, an indoor pool and horseshoe pits. It is located next to Los Altos Golf Course and Los Altos Skatepark in Northeast Albuquerque.
USS Bullhead Memorial Park
Named after a World War II submarine, the USS Bullhead Memorial Park has two playgrounds, seven soccer fields and four softball fields. There are barbecue grills and picnic tables to use. USS Bullhead Memorial Park is located in southeast Albuquerque near the Albuquerque International Sunport and Kirtland Air Force Base.
