Don’t miss Visit Albuquerque’s Annual Meeting, the must-attend industry event of the year. Join us at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m. for a recap of Visit Albuquerque’s marketing, sales and services efforts this past year, a review of local industry performance, and updates on exciting new initiatives. Following the program, enjoy complimentary drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres as you network with Visit Albuquerque Board members and staff, fellow Partners, industry stakeholders and special guests. The annual meeting is free to attend, but you must register beforehand.
As we prepare to welcome visitors for the Balloon Fiesta, the City of Albuquerque is encouraging people to participate in its “Company’s Comin’ Cleanup” to help make the city shine. The citywide cleanup effort is taking place on Sept. 30. Volunteers can sign up to work at Balloon Fiesta Park or they can organize a cleanup event to help beautify their own neighborhoods.
Visit Albuquerque’s Albuquerque Community Experience (ACE) training program is designed to brush up your employees’ customer service skills and strengthen their knowledge about the city. Graduates of the program can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. The program also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict.

Painted Lady Bed & Brew recently celebrated its five-year anniversary. There are lots of exciting developments happening at this historic property. The Ghost Light Saloon is officially open with eight local craft beers on tap. Painted Lady is also expecting to have its own beers on tap this fall. Congratulations!
New brewing equipment
Three Visit Albuquerque Partners recently won awards from “Wine Spectator.” Campo received a Best Award of Excellence, which means it has 350 wine selections or more over a wide variety of regions and styles and offers training to staff to help customers choose a wine. Level 5 and Scalo each received Awards of Excellence. These restaurants offer 90 selections or more, including quality wines not often found in stores, that match the restaurant’s cuisine. Way to go!

Suzanne Sbarge, the founder and executive director of 516 Arts, will step down from her role next month. She founded 516 Arts in 2006. She will transition to an artist and consultant for the organization. Deputy director April Chalay will step in as interim director beginning Oct. 16.

Electric Playhouse received a Tripadvisor 2023 Travelers’ Choice Award. That means Electric Playhouse is in the top 10% of attractions globally. Way to go!
