Visit Albuquerque Volunteer Spotlight

Marianne Presser

Marianne Presser has been a Visit Albuquerque volunteer for five years. Her mom was a volunteer back when Visit Albuquerque was known as the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau in the 1980s and 1990s. Marianne said it was a “no-brainer” that she would begin volunteering with Visit Albuquerque after retiring. She is an Albuquerque native, and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Marianne finds it interesting that even in our Internet-reliant world, people still seek out the Visitor Information Center to learn about what to do in Albuquerque. “Just this morning my fellow volunteer, Melanie, and I were able to assist two young women who had only an hour or two to spend in the Old Town area,” Marianne said. “They realized that it may be more beneficial to seek advice from real people instead of using their smartphones. And that is rewarding!”
