ACE Your Team’s Customer Service Skills and Knowledge of Albuquerque

Visit Albuquerque’s Albuquerque Community Experience (ACE) training program is designed to brush up your employees’ customer service skills and strengthen their knowledge about the city. Graduates of the program can answer guests’ questions about things to do and places to visit. The program also provides training on topics such as first impressions, effective communication and handling conflict. Graduates will receive a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate recognizing their completion of the program.

Mike Canfield Retires from Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

Mike Canfield has retired as the President and CEO of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) and Indian Pueblos Marketing, Inc. He first served as a board member for IPCC before becoming the President and CEO in 2011. Under his visionary leadership, Mike has overseen a remarkable transformation of the former Albuquerque Indian School campus into a bustling hub for business and culture.  His dedication to promoting and preserving Pueblo culture has been a cornerstone of his leadership. As a champion and steadfast supporter of the city of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico, Mike served as the 2023-2024 Visit Albuquerque Board Chair and is the Immediate Past Chair. We are tremendously grateful for Mike’s contributions to the organization and to the tourism industry in Albuquerque.

Hotel Andaluz Launches New Restaurant, Bar

Hotel Andaluz recently opened its new restaurant, Char, which features dishes cooked on a Josper grill. The hotel also opened G. Toti, its rooftop bar that serves cocktails and snacks. Congratulations!

CAMPO AT LOS POBLANOS ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST FOR JAMES BEARD AWARD

Congratulations to Campo at Los Poblanos for advancing to the finalist stage in the 2025 James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards, the nation’s foremost culinary honors. Campo is nominated in the category of Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program, which recognizes a restaurant that demonstrates exceptional care and skill in the pairing of wine and other beverages with food. Campo is among an exclusive list of only five restaurants in the United States that are finalists for the award. Well done! The winner will be announced on June 16.

Become a Visit Albuquerque Volunteer

Do you love Albuquerque and sharing the good news of the community with others? Visit Albuquerque is seeking individuals to volunteer at its two visitor centers located in Historic Old Town Albuquerque and the Sunport. Volunteers will work 3.5-hour shifts once a week or on weekends. This commitment requires customer service training and knowledge of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. Visit Albuquerque provides customer service training and training on Albuquerque through Albuquerque Community Experience classes. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to volunteer at sporting events and conferences. Being an ambassador for your city and state is a fun and exciting experience that will allow you to meet people visiting from around the world!
