“Catalyzing a thriving Black / African American social profit sector.”
The New Mexico Black Leadership Council (NMBLC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a hub to create a viable and sustainable social profit sector designed to serve the black community in the state of New Mexico.
We follow recommendations gathered from the African American Community Economic Transformation Study (AACETS) Report (2014): create a hub organization, establish a leadership development institute, and form a communications network infrastructure.
NMBLC will focus on building capacity in four key areas: Tourism + Cultural Vibrancy; Health (Physical, Behavioral, and Financial); Positive Youth Development + Leadership; and Civic Engagement. Additionally, NMBLC will create an Ad Hoc Advisory space to include coordinated efforts for the 2020 Census and the Violence Intervention + Prevention Project (VIPP).
