Live music and concert venue at the West end of Albuquerque's Downtown Music and Arts Corridor. Built in 1942, the El Rey Theater was a popular movie cinema, featuring an on-site restaurant called "The Hanger", as well as several popular bars.
Encompassing both the Theater and Saloon, it is a registered Historic Building and the only example of Mediterranean architecture in a large theater in the State of New Mexico. Today, it is utilized as a concert and performing arts venue at the West End of Albuquerque's Downtown Music and Arts Corridor, off Route 66.
