The CSL team began conducting research during the summer of 2026 and expects to deliver its final report before the end of the calendar year. The team is interviewing hundreds of stakeholders including Downtown property owners and developers, community leaders and hospitality industry leaders.
The Catalytic Project Feasibility Study will assess a range of concepts for potential investment and make recommendations about which show the strongest combination of market demand, financial viability, competitive positioning and lasting community benefit. Potential concepts may include:
- New or enhanced visitor-facing infrastructure
- Arts, culture, sports and entertainment experiences
- Improvements to existing convention/meeting assets
- Placemaking and public-space improvements
- Attractions, venues and public gathering spaces
- Mixed-use development or complementary uses that increase Downtown activity
This initiative reflects the growing importance of destination infrastructure in attracting high-value events and visitors. It will provide recommendations that support Albuquerque’s tourism and economic development goals.
