Albuquerque to Host Senior Softball Championships
Games will welcome hundreds of athletes and visitors from across the country
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (June 23, 2025) – Albuquerque will host the 2025 Senior Softball - USA Land of Enchantment Championships from June 24-29 at the Los Altos Softball Complex and Tingley Field.
This year’s tournament will bring more than 1,100 athletes and their families to the city, representing over 75 teams from states including Hawaii, Florida, Utah, and throughout the Southwest. Local teams such as Los Toros (Men’s 60+ division) and the NM Wolfpack (Men’s 65+ division) will return to defend their championship titles. The event is projected to generate more than $1.3 million in direct spending.
“We are proud to serve as the host city for such an exciting sporting event,” said Tania Armenta, Visit Albuquerque’s President and CEO. “Events like this not only energize our community and economy, but also provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase Albuquerque’s one-of-a-kind culture, warm hospitality and scenic beauty.”
This marks the second consecutive year Albuquerque has hosted the Land of Enchantment Championships. The tournament will be held in two sessions:
- Session 1: June 24–26
- Session 2: June 27–29
The event also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 Tournament of Champions in Polk County, Florida. Full schedules and additional details are available on the tournament’s official website.
Promoting an active lifestyle among seniors is a key benefit of the championship. According to the National Institute of Health, staying physically active can help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, and ease feelings of anxiety. Team sports like softball also help combat social isolation by fostering community and camaraderie.
