Albuquerque Hosts 3rd Annual Senior Softball USA Land of Enchantment Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (June 25, 2026) – Albuquerque welcomes athletes from across the country for the 3rd Annual Land of Enchantment Championships, hosted by Senior Softball USA, taking place through June 28 at the Los Altos Softball Complex.

The premier senior softball tournament will feature 65 teams and more than 1,300 players and spectators converging in Albuquerque for a weekend of competitive play, camaraderie and community celebration. The tournament is expected to generate more than $2 million in direct economic impact for the Albuquerque region, supporting local hotels, restaurants and attractions while reinforcing the city’s reputation as a premier destination for regional and national sporting events.

“This is the 3rd Annual Land of Enchantment Championships at the beautiful Los Altos Softball Complex in Albuquerque, and Senior Softball USA is extremely excited to return,” said Terry Hennessy, CEO of Senior Softball USA. “Teams are flocking from 11 states as far away as Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Hawaii. The 65 teams will infuse more than $2 million into the Albuquerque economy and spread the word of your city’s beauty throughout the nation. We believe the Land of Enchantment Championships has become a signature event for both Albuquerque and Senior Softball USA.”

The tournament includes 14 New Mexico teams, representing approximately 240 local players, and a strong women’s division featuring 16 teams and roughly 275 players, highlighting the continued growth and participation of women in senior softball.

“Albuquerque is honored to host the 3rd Annual Land of Enchantment Championships at the Los Altos Softball Complex,” said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. “This tournament showcases the incredible reach and spirit of Senior Softball USA, bringing together athletes from across the country and right here at home. We’re proud to welcome more than 1,300 players and spectators to our city and to celebrate the energy, sportsmanship and community that make Albuquerque such a special place to play and visit.”

“The Los Altos Softball Complex is one of the best facilities in the Southwest,” said Parks and Recreation Director Dave Simon.  “Parks Department employees worked hard over the past nine months to ensure that SSUSA players have excellent field conditions when they come to Albuquerque.”

The event is free and open to the public, inviting fans, families and visitors to experience high-level competition and a welcoming tournament atmosphere throughout the weekend. Media parking will be available in the main parking lot at Los Altos Softball Complex, and no media credential or pass is required.

Games will feature continuous play across multiple divisions, showcasing the skill, sportsmanship and competitive spirit that define Senior Softball USA events. Spectators can expect a lively, community-oriented environment as teams compete for championship honors.
