32nd Annual Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival: Spring Show

True to tradition, artists will hail from all corners of the USA to show and sell their work at Expo New Mexico. 185 juried vendors will represent a wide range of original fine art, sculpture, photography, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, wood, metal and glass art, all for sale directly from the artists. Discover live music all day long in both halls of the festival; enjoy tunes from Syd Masters and the Swing Ryders, Mariachi Fiesta, Spanish guitarist Ronaldo Baca, local favorite Oscar Butler, jazz by Calvin Appleberry and more! Kiddos can also enjoy entertainment & art activities just for them! ‘Culinary Row’ features over a dozen booths of gourmet foods for sampling and taking home, ranging from honey & chocolate to salsa & soups. Enjoy a breakfast burrito or bowl of New Mexican posole while watching the live entertainment - plus cocktails, beer & wine are also available for you to sip while you shop!

2020 NCAA Men’s & Women’s Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships  

Cheer on some of the nation’s top track and field athletes at the 2020 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships! The University of New Mexico (UNM) Track & Field program will serve as the host institution with support from Visit Albuquerque and the City of Albuquerque. The City of Albuquerque introduced a 200-meter Mondo track in 2005 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. In the years since, it has served as UNM’s indoor facility, hosted six USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, two NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, and the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2014, among many other high caliber track and field events.

Dark Cube: Heisenberg’s Race for the Bomb

The Smithsonian affiliated, congressionally chartered National Museum of Nuclear Science & History will introduce a very special exhibition, “Dark Cube: Heisenberg’s Race for the Bomb,”. Along with this special exhibition – focusing on a dense, two-inch charcoal-black cube made of pure uranium metal that Nazi scientists suspended with 663 other similar cubes during World War II in an effort to create the world’s first atomic bomb – a special event will introduce two experts from the University of Maryland to speak on the significance of this unique and historic object. This event is included with museum admission, and two talks will take place at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm.

Piff the Magic Dragon

Details Route 66 Casino Hotel welcomes “America’s Got Talent” finalist and world-renowned magician Piff the Magic Dragon to Albuquerque’s Legends Theater on 50% Comedian. 50% Magician. 100% Dragon. St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl

Yjastros – El Fuego Fatuo

Yjastros celebrates their spring concert season, a dynamic display of flamenco’s possibilities framed through Spanish composer Manuel de Falla’s famous work “El Fuego Fatuo.” Featuring invited artists, world famous flamenco cantaora (singer) Esperanza Fernández of Sevilla, and the musical group Revózo led by Vicente Griego and Cesár Beauvallet (Son Como Son), El Fuego Fatuo is a dazzling display of flamenco and stunning musical compositions. In their electrifying performances, audiences will be moved by world premiere choreography by guest choreographers alongside a classic works by Artistic Director Joaquin Encinias and Yolanda Heredia, and stunning musical collaboration with Esperanza Fernández and Revózo.
