2020 Friends & Lovers Balloon Rally 

Every February at Balloon Fiesta Park, scores of balloons, including competition racers and special shapes, fill the sky. While this rally has a playful Valentine theme it is a family event and organizers welcome all that would like to share in the Hot Air Ballooning experience. Friends and Lovers is the second biggest Balloon Rally in the Country! Experience the unbelievable sights and sounds of Hot air Ballooning at this free event.

Dreamgirls 

Musical Theatre Southwest and the African American Performing Arts Center are proud to announce their first collaboration with the classic musical, DREAMGIRLS. A sweeping and inspirational journey through 20th century American popular music, DREAMGIRLS chronicles one Motown group’s rise from obscurity to superstardom. Through gospel, R&B, smooth pop, disco and more, DREAMGIRLS explores themes of ambition, hope and betrayal, all set in the glamorous and competitive world of the entertainment industry.

New Mexico Street Food & Beer Festival  

Enjoy an amazing day filled with street food vendors, food trucks, and top breweries! Guests will experience complimentary samples of craft beer from regional breweries as well as access to the best food vendors around. Tickets include complimentary beer tastings from the breweries for the entire event + breweries will be selling full beers as well as cans/bottles to take home. This is a 21 and over event.

Downtown ABQ Artwalk  

Head downtown every First Friday for ABQ Artwalk! ABQ Artwalk is an organization of artist and organizers working with multiple downtown businesses and destinations to bring you ABQ Artwalk art shows, live music and community events! With each venue offering something different, you will get to experience the creative diversity Albuquerque is known for!

Winter Dance Escape Featuring Peter and the Wolf 

Two of New Mexico’s largest arts and education organizations, NDI New Mexico and New Mexico Jazz Workshop, partner with Albuquerque’s inaugural poet laureate Hakim Bellamy to present an unforgettable dance event in a new production of Peter & The Wolf presented at The Hiland Theater. The production is co-choreographed by the new Hiland Artistic team of Steven Melendez and Tom Porras and features a new, jazz interpretation of a legendary classic. Bringing art to the people means ensuring that it is not only accessible financially but also accessible thematically, that’s why we’ve chosen to stage this production within the Jazz genre.

Deep Peace Concert 

Sound Journey into Light with Paul Temple’s Radiance Matrix Tibetan Bowls, Flutes & Mantras. Peaceful. Penetrating. Pure. These words have been used to describe the music of Paul Temple’s Radiance Matrix, who has toured internationally, offering Deep Peace Concerts as a path to beauty and inner peace. The gathering is a cross between a concert, a meditation and a journey into the mystic. Paul weaves an eclectic musical mix of tuned healing bowls, haunting flutes, Sanskrit mantras, Tibetan throat singing and dream-like songs, dabbed with classical touches of Bach and Debussy. 

Red Door Jam Night 

Your host James Haynes has a big ol' fashion jam sesh on Tuesday nights. Bring your favorite instrument and join in. Bring your open mic talent and perform whatever you feel in your heart. Participating
