Overview

516 ARTS is an independent, nonprofit contemporary arts organization, operating a museum-style gallery in the center of Downtown Albuquerque. 516 ARTS offers programs that inspire curiosity, dialogue, risk-taking and creative experimentation, showcasing a mix of established, emerging, local, national and international artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Programs include exhibitions, collaborations with museums and organizations around the region and beyond, public art projects, the 516 WORDS literary arts series, lectures, public forums, workshops, youth programs, performances and special community arts events like the Downtown Block Party. Presenting partners include the Albuquerque Museum of Art & History, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Outpost Performance Space and UNM Art Museum, among others.
