Through the Flower Art Space

Overview

Located in the historic railyard district of Belen, Through the Flower Art Space celebrated its grand opening on July 20, 2019. It houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of renowned feminist artist Judy Chicago and her photographer husband, Donald Woodman and also features changing art exhibitions, a book and video library, resource center and gift shop. Through dynamic exhibitions, educational resources, programs, and events, Through the Flower Art Space connects visitors with cultural institutions across the U.S. and serves the local community as the cultural anchor for the Belen Arts District.

Currently on display in the art space: 'Confined', an exhibition of new work by Judy Chicago with photography by Donald Woodman. This show is a response to life during the pandemic and the feelings of isolation that it has caused. Featured in 'Confined' are prints and drawings by Judy Chicago which express these themes, including a series of photographs taken by Donald Woodman entitled 'Garden Smoke'.

Open Thursday – Saturday, 12-5 pm or by special appointment.
