This month our Featured Artist is Karina VanMeter.
Karina has drawn and painted since she was a child. Her subjects have always been animals, primarily horses. She took a break from art to raise her children. They moved to New Mexico in 2017, which gave her the opportunity to work on her art. She recently started painting in oil and has found this medium to be her new favorite form of expression.
In the Salon we will be featuring “SPLASH INTO SPRING”. This artist group: Susan Copus, Shun Shu, Lucille Enciso, Nora Nevera and David Price share a love for the Splash of Color technique. Many of these artists have studied under Ming Franz, an internationally known artist who teaches splash ink watercolor and pouring of acrylic paints. This fun, free-form method of color blending can create striking abstract paintings. These paintings may be embellished with additional details, or left in their original beauty. The versatility of this art form leads to infinite possibilities in color combinations and visual styles.
The Gallery has a Call for Artists for the May Salon show who create small works and miniatures. For more information please visit our website.
