Polyphony: Voices of New Mexico will stage, in a public setting, a reconstruction of Tallis' monumental 40-part Renaissance motet, Spem in Alium, written in 1570 for eight choirs of five voices each. Arguably the greatest work of Renaissance choral music by an English composer, Spem in Alium was Tallis' crowning achievement. This project is supported by a grant from NMA (New Mexico Arts).
