37 artists displaying and selling their work at 14 studio stops. The range of creative artwork can be seen on the website http://sandiaheightsart.com. The 14 stops on the tour showcase the artists’ home studios and a diversity of media, including ceramic sculpture, dichroic and fusible glass, acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting, Chinese brush painting, jewelry, collage, wood and gourd art, hand-bound books and journals, travel and local photography, and more. New participants join each year and returning artists reinvent themselves, so the displays are always fresh and exciting. The Sandia Heights Artists are committed to encouraging young artists. In 2018, the artists participating in the Sandia Heights Artist tour, donated $1,700 to Art in the Schools. This year the artists will contribute to the La Mesa Arts Academy which provides free visual and performance arts classes after school for students at La Mesa Elementary School in the International District of Albuquerque.
