ROAD MAP - A Group Exhibition Celebrating the Route 66 Centennial
Merge Modern Art Gallery presents ROAD MAP a group exhibition opening Saturday, April 4 from 5–9 PM, inside Catalyst Coffee on Albuquerque’s Westside.
This exhibition is created in celebration of the Route 66 Centennial, honoring one of the most iconic roadways in American history and its deep connection to New Mexico’s cultural and visual landscape.
ROAD MAP explores both literal and emotional interpretations of the road. Featuring work inspired by desert highways, roadside architecture, signage, open landscapes, and the layered terrain of the Southwest, the exhibition reflects on movement, memory, and the stories carried along Route 66.
As Route 66 approaches 100 years, this show invites viewers to consider the road not just as infrastructure, but as a living thread connecting people, places, and personal histories across generations.
The exhibition features a dynamic roster of artists including Moe the Clown, Joel Davis, Amanda Lawson, Pi Luna, Tara McSweeney, Dave Newman, Caitlin Padilla, Angie Rehnberg, Aaron Richardson, Andres X Sebastian, and Tori Solomon.
Hosted within Catalyst Coffee, Merge Modern continues its mission of making contemporary art accessible within an everyday community space, where art and daily life intersect.
ROAD MAP will be on exhibition April 4th, 2026 - June 1st, 2026
