Pagoda Lidded Basket Workshop

Overview

Using reed and wire, create a stylish and storage-friendly basket with a lid during this intermediate basket weaving workshop.

This lidded Pagoda basket features a 5” woven Cathead base. The basket and lid are accented with grey reed, flat silver wire, and 2 silver hoops serving as handles on the basket.

You will weave the sides in traditional start stop rows with a special emphasis on shaping to achieve the unique Cathead shape.

After finishing with a traditional lashed rim, you will learn to create a round reed woven ledge for the lid to rest on. You will weave the lid using a Triple Twine method to suit the size of your basket.

The completed basket measures approximately 7″ Diameter x 7″ Tall. Please note the class fee is $95 payable upon registration, in addition to a $60 materials fee paid directly to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

Mary Price is the founder of Sunset Ridge Basketry and has spent over 20 years traveling the country to teach basketry workshops.
