Created by Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box, Origami In The Garden is a monumental three acre outdoor sculpture exhibition. Kevin Box takes origami to another level, transforming paper into museum quality metal sculpture through processes he pioneered in teamwork with foundries, fabrication shops, and his studio staff. These remarkable artworks feel at home in the wondrous settings of gardens, since paper originates in plant life and origami is made of paper.
Set against the wild beauty of the New Mexico desert, this show brings together larger-than-life metal sculptures inspired by the delicate art of origami—each piece telling a story of creativity, transformation, and harmony with nature.
Located at 3453 NM 14, Cerrillos NM 87010, the garden is open to the public seasonally with weekday hours 9am – 1pm from May 5 to October 31, 2025. Tickets are not required, but a suggested donation of $10.00 per person is greatly appreciated. Children aged 16 and under are admitted free.
The Turquoise Trail Studio Tour is the only time the garden is open on weekends, during the last two weekends in September. The tour dates this season are September 20-21 and September 27-28. Origami In The Garden is also open on many federal holidays like, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Indigenous People’s Day.
