New Mexico Philharmonic Concert: Tchaikovsky’s 1812

Remember the music behind that old television commercial with cereal shot from cannons? That's Tchaikovsky's celebrated, spectacular, and triumphant 1812 Overture, commemorating victory over Napoleon. The evening's program also includes Smetana's exuberant Vltava (The Moldau) and Prokofiev's ravishing and rhythmic Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, featuring internationally renowned violinist Karen Gomyo.
