Native Artist Demonstration Series - Coronado Historic Site

Overview

Join us at Coronado Historic Site for our monthly artist demonstrations highlighting six artists from different New Mexico Pueblos and Arizona Hopi Villages. Each artist will interact with visitors while they practice their style of traditional and contemporary arts.

  • May 3 – Mallery Quetawki (Zuni), Acrylic on canvas and pottery
  • June 7 – Dolores Lewis Garcia (Acoma), Acoma polychrome pottery
  • July 5 – Valerie Namoki (Hopi), Hopi pottery
  • August 2 – Randy Brokeshoulder (Hopi), Hopi wood doll carver
  • September 6 – Marcus Moquino (Kewa/Hopi), Acrylic on canvas/Mixed media
  • October 4 – Louie Garcia (Piro/Socorro Del Sur), Pueblo textile weaving

New Mexico is home to 19 federally recognized Pueblos and Arizona is home to 12 Hopi villages and these demonstrations provide an opportunity to learn about traditional and contemporary Native art.

Admission is free to New Mexico residents on first Sundays and $7 for non-residents. Admission is also free to children 16 and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and MNMF and FCJHS members.
