Midnight in the Garden stems from Hoo-Doo practices. It is the liminal, magical hours after midnight - 3a.m., when the veil between good and evil is at its thinnest. This exhibition focuses on five New Mexican artists whose work similarly conjures a melded unearthing of religions, superstition, magic, spiritualism and folklore.
The artists included in this exhibition are tending and growing a new narrative through their work, one which breaks away from these incompatible constraints, instead seeking to dwell within that grey veil of equity and possibility.
