Overview

This event will be streamed from the AMP Concerts Facebook Page

While all our concerts are on hold, AMP Concerts is reaching out to local artists to give them work and give you entertainment in these difficult times. AMP maintains a fund to pay for community projects, which have primarily been school programs and artist residencies. In this time of crisis, we are using those funds to hire local artists and tech crews to create streaming events—and to act as a catalyst for the community to support art as well.

The New Mexican Marimba Band performs on an authentic Mexican Marimba featuring the music of Steve Chavez, who is a teacher, screenwriter, composer/arranger, and collector of 38 Marimbas from around the world. Steve was a member of the NM Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque and Santa Fe Pro Musica. He has composed/arranged nine Concerti for Marimba and Orchestra and over 70 works for Marimbas, Steel-Drums, Latin-Jazz, pop, country, and religious.

This is the latest in a monthly series of free events in collaboration with the Friends for the Public Library.
