The public is invited to visit the Double Eagle II Airport on September 25th for the Land of Enchantment Fly-In. Walk among a ramp full of airplanes, participate in aviation activities for the whole family, and visit exhibits representing many aviation organizations and vendors. Hosted by Chapter 179 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), this is the 30th annual Fly-In.
-- As in recent years, we expect to have many aircraft on the ramp - amateur built, vintage, military, gyrocopter, ultralight, sailplanes, and many production aircraft. Local enthusiast groups are expected to be there as well: VWs, MOPAR cars, military vehicles, and custom car clubs.
-- For pilots, there will be 3 WINGS seminars (also open for people interested in learning some of the details of flying and of flying in New Mexico)..
-- Awards will be presented for aircraft in these Categories: Best Plans Built, Best Kit Built, Contemporary (1971-present), Classic (prior to 1971), LSA/Trike, Most Distant Flyin, Warbird, People's Choice (chosen by votes from the visitors), and LOEFI Grand Champion (judge's choice).
-- In the hangar and on the ramp, there will be many exhibitors from New Mexico aviation organizations & vendors, plus a Fly Mart and activities for kids, young and old.
-- Food trucks will be on the ramp, serving breakfast and lunch.
