Artisan ABQ will be open late and invites you in for L’After Hours! Join us for our art gallery reception, have fun making art at one of our creation stations, and enjoy live music by Anna Rudolph and Steve Hill. This will be our 7th show, within in 7 months, so if you haven’t come to one yet, you sure will not want to miss this artist lineup.
We are excited to announce our upcoming exhibit featuring artworks by critically acclaimed painters Leo Neufeld, Mark Beck, Dan Griggs, and Greg Tucker. This will be a collection of master artworks by four highly established painters residing in New Mexico. It is an absolute honor to host this exhibition at Artisan ABQ.
Leo Neufeld will be presenting new coastal works completed this summer in California and some of his widely known classical realism portraits. Neufeld’s passion for art began in childhood and he later studied at the University of Wisconsin, the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and the Art Students League of NYC. He has also taught painting and drawing for over 30 years. It is with much gratitude and great privilege to exhibit some of his most recent works and several paintings that were included in his 40-year retrospective.
Contemporary realism painter, Mark Beck, is known for his bold and moody American landscapes. He has been a prolific professional artist for over three decades and his work is represented by some of the nation’s most respected art galleries. His artwork has been published in numerous esteemed magazines. He has collaborated with films, interior designers and many of his works are included in some of the world’s most sought after public and private collections.
Greg Tucker was interested in drawing since early childhood. Later, he studied art at the University of Georgia, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Guadalajara, Mexico and at the University of New Mexico. His illustrations have been published in numerous magazines and his artwork is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Art of Albuquerque and in UNM's Fine Arts Museum.
Dan Griggs was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and he primarily paints from life using models in his figurative works. The relationship between the subject and the artist is important to his artistic philosophy. Spending time rendering a three-dimensional setting, object or person into a realistic 2-dimensional depiction is paramount to his process. He believes painting from life offers much more for the eye to capture.
Meet and mingle with these incredible artists in this rare opportunity! Enjoy food, fun, live music and 15% OFF art supplies during the event! Come create with other people in your very own community during the opening reception on Saturday, October 14th from 6-8:30 PM. The exhibit will run through Nov. 7th.
You get to make art with us and try out different supplies at Artisan ABQ. We will have creation stations with a limited number of supplies for the community to use and create community art on the spot. It’s truly inspiring!
Artisan ABQ is an art supply store in Nob Hill, Albuquerque. Recently we have been cultivating more community engagement within our store. We have renovated our classroom area and turned it into a gallery space as well. We don’t “represent” artists like a traditional gallery does and 100% of sales go directly to the artist. The artwork and artists displayed in the gallery changes every month. The gallery is also the classroom and is found inside Artisan ABQ downstairs. Contact our gallery curator, Angie Rehnberg, at angie@artisanabq.com or info@artisanabq.com for additional information.
