Overview

Have all kinds of yarn in your house? Leftovers from other projects? Trying to figure out what you can do with it? You can use it in rug hooking!

In this class, we will:

Discuss the history of rug hooking and where it is today, including its various forms;
Learn how to prep our materials;
Begin hooking a “mug rug,” a small table mat, or wall hanging; and
Discuss the ways we can finish the piece when the hooking is done.

No experience is necessary; just come prepared to play with all the colors and textures! Please bring a small pair of scissors. If you have a strong, 12-inch quilting hoop (e.g., a Morgan), you might want to bring that too.
