Overview

Diwali is one of the biggest Hindu festivals, celebrated in India with great enthusiasm and happiness for five continuous days. The third day is celebrated as the main Diwali festival, or “Festival of Lights,” and different varieties of colorful fireworks are always associated with this festival. On this auspicious day, people light diyas (lamps) and candles all around their houses. They perform Laxmi Puja in the evening and seek divine blessings from the Goddess of Wealth. The festival of Diwali is never complete without the exchange of gifts, as people present Diwali gifts to all near and dear ones.
