"Clay and Water" Reception

Overview
Tom Cassidy, watercolorist, and Phil Green, ceramist, join together to bring you “From Clay and Water,” Amapola Gallery’s Featured Artist exhibition for June.

Tom Cassidy is a master of watercolor "scapes"—both street and land.  Cassidy parlayed his boyhood interest in art into a successful career as an architect.  Retirement has given him the time to return to his first love, of painting.  He captures the sights of New Mexico with a draftsman’s eye, a laser focus and a rich color palette.

Phil Green has turned his interest in color and form—and practicality—into wonderful ceramic clocks.  The unpredictability of the Raku firing process produces chromatic surprises and guarantees no two clocks are exactly alike.  Titles such as “Aztec,” “Lotus” and “Grand Central” convey some idea of the range of Green’s designs.

Meet these two talented men as clay and water converge, at  the artists’ reception, from 4 to 7 on Friday, June 7.  Where?  Amapola Gallery, on the Plaza in Old Town at 205 Romero, NW.  “From Clay and Water” runs through June, and the gallery is open daily from 10 to 5.
