Several years ago, the U.S. Senate unanimously approved a week in June as “National Pollinator Week,” taking a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations. Pollinator Week is an international celebration of the valuable services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles, which are so essential to our natural resources by helping plants to reproduce.
In 2016, the Albuquerque City Council unanimously approved Albuquerque as the first Bee City USA in the Southwest--Burque Bee City. Help us to celebrate this event for all ages. Join the Open Space Visitor Center, the Open Space Alliance, and Bee City USA for an evening of live music, pollinator presentations and activities, kids crafts, a variety of vendors, and more! See the website for more details.
