Alice, Sensory Friendly Performances

Overview

“Keshet’s Alice draws inspiration from the Alice in Wonderland story and characters, but our interpretation is only loosely based on Lewis Carroll’s work, and instead we experience Alice through a Keshet lens of self-discovery and new possibilities, embodying and embracing Keshet’s mission of unlimited possibilities.”

Like its predecessor, Nutcracker on the Rocks, Alice is a dance performance and live arts experience for the whole family, incorporating a lively score, with great classic rock, jazz, and more! Keshet Dance opens its latest creation, Alice, an adventure of wonder and wondering with a cast of professional and community dancers aged 9--80; conceived and choreographed by Keshet’s Founder and Artistic Director, Shira Greenberg.

Keshet strives to make dance performance at Keshet Center for the Arts accessible to all. With this goal, performances have altered technical elements, smaller audience sizes, and break-out spaces for individuals to get up and move around throughout the performance, providing a welcoming setting for families.

Sensory adjustments include:
House lights remain at half brightness during the entire performance.
Fewer tickets are sold to allow you to spread out in seating.
Entry and Exit to the theater is not restricted. You may come and go as you please.
Volunteers are stationed throughout the audience, lobby and outside the Keshet Center for the Arts to assist audience members.
Quiet areas are designated in the lobby.
Keshet dancers, staff, ushers and volunteers are receiving training to ensure an exemplary experience for you and your family.
