2nd Fridays with Puerta al Tango

6:00pm to 6:45pm free class (5:30pm studio is open)

Social Argentine Tango is for anyone and everyone who believes in community, mindfulness and exploration of how we move through space (not outer space, we like gravity).

Casual and Fun.  Comfortable shoes (we have dance socks).  We recommend the smallest and lightest pair you already have that you are comfortable in... big hiking boots will be a bit challenging... but doable.

No Partner necessary

2 Left feet welcome -- there are no steps in tango other than forward, backward, side and pivot... we learn how to relax, collaborate and create moments with our partners.  

2nd Fridays are unique opportunities to try one of our free classes. At 7:00pm we have one of our monthly social events, Milonga Onda, which is a relaxed social gathering for dancing tango. If you are new to tango and have just taken our free class you are welcome to stay and observe this friendly event the same evening!  If you would like to dance at Milonga Onda then we ask to contribute to the entrada ($15 for dancers 7-10pm milonga).  

Location:  We are a bit ugly on the outside (the building), but please come through the door to see the unique and iconic dance venue and doors that are within!  Our front door is directly across 1st St. NW from our awesome neighbors:  Juno Brewery
Dress: clean and casual, no fuss. Some people dress up a little for Milonga ~Onda~~. For this milonga I am usually in nice jeans and a pearl snap shirt of low-key tee.  2nd Fridays are for having fun.  Most just come in jeans and a nice casual shirt... no stress with the dress. We have dance socks that slip over your shoes at the studio, too.

Scents:  please go easy, or preferably refrain from heavy scents (perfumes, colognes) or fabric softeners as many people are allergic.   Suggestion.
