2025 Program Series: Stand Up, Speak Up with Julie Kohner

Join us to hear Julie Kohner's incredible family story of survival and hope. Kohner's mother and father were childhood sweethearts who grew up in Czechoslovakia before the war. Kohner's father traveled to the United States to join his brothers, but her mother wasn't as lucky. Hanna Bloch Kohner was arrested and interned in four concentration camps, including Auschwitz. She miraculously survived the Holocaust and was later reunited with her childhood sweetheart in Amsterdam. The pair soon married and started their new lives in Los Angeles. Hanna Bloch Kohner gained worldwide attention after appearing in 1953 on the TV program This is Your Life, where she told the story of her survival.
