Business Closure Updates

COVID-19 | Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are tracking updates and noting updates to business closures, hours of operation, and changes in services, but for the most up to date information, please consult business websites directly.

Current restrictions, as of February 24, 2021 are as follows:
  • See the most recent Public Health Order here
  • Visitors to the state of New Mexico are no longer required to self-quarantine. Instead, visitors are strongly advised to self-quarantine for 14 days and obtain a COVID-19 test upon their arrival in the state.
  • All gatherings of more than ten people or 80 vehicles are prohibited. 
  • Everyone is required to wear a face covering in public in the state of New Mexico. Violators are subject to a $100 fine. 
  • Outdoor dining at Albuquerque restaurants is permitted at 75% of maximum occupancy, but must close in-person dining by 10 p.m. if alcohol is served. 
  • Indoor dining at Albuquerque restaurants is permitted at 33% of maximum occupancy, if the establishment is NM Safe Certified. Any establishment that serves alcohol must close by 10 p.m. 
  • Food service establishments can still operate through take-out and home delivery service. This same directive applies to restaurants and bars within hotels. Click here for restaurants offering takeout and delivery services.
  • Places of lodging that have completed New Mexico Safe Certified training are allowed to operate at 60% of their maximum occupancy level. Places of lodging that have not completed the training program are permitted to operate at 33% of their maximum occupancy level. 
  • Vacation rentals have a five guest maximum. 
  • Essential retail businesses may operate at 33% of max capacity. Indoor shopping malls may operate at 25% of max capacity. 
  • Essential, non-retail businesses must limit operations to those necessary to carry out essential functions. 
  • Close-contact businesses may operate at 33% of max capacity or 20 customers at a time, whichever is smaller. 
  • Recreational facilities may operate at 33% of max capacity of any outdoor spaces on the premises; but indoor facilities must remain close. This includes movie theaters, arcades, casinos and more. 
  • All outdoor recreational facilities may operate at 33% of max capacity, unless required to have lower capacity under state
    COVID-Safe Practices. This includes golf courses, tennis courts and the ABQ BioPark.
  • Please contact individual casinos for closure information and/or hours of operation. 
  • Houses of worship may operate at 33% capacity.
  • All other businesses are permitted to operate at 33% of maximum capacity.
