Business Closure Updates

COVID-19 | Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are tracking updates and noting updates to business closures, hours of operation, and changes in services, but for the most up to date information, please consult business websites directly.

Current restrictions, as of July 1, 2020 are as follows:

  • A mandatory 14-day quarantine for all out-of-state travelers into New Mexico is in place, whether traveling by air or by vehicle. See the full Public Health Order here
  • All gatherings of more than five people are prohibited.
  • Everyone is required to wear a face covering in public in the state of New Mexico. Violators are subject to a $100 fine. 
  • As of June 1, restaurants in Albuquerque may operate indoor and patio dine-in service at 50% of maximum occupancy in accordance with COVID-Safe Practices. Bar and counter seating is prohibited; no standing service allowed. No more than six people may be seated at any single table. Not all restaurants are offering the same services, so please call the restaurant before arriving. Food service establishments can still operate through take-out and home delivery service.   • As of June 12, outdoor and patio seating at 50% capacity is allowed at breweries. Breweries must adhere to COVID-Safe Practices for restaurants. Beginning Monday, June 15, 50% maximum occupancy for indoor and outdoor seating will be allowed at breweries. 
  • Hotels, motels, RV parks, and other places of lodging shall not operate at more than 50 percent of maximum occupancy, and must comply with COVID-Safe Practices.
  • All retail operations are operating at limited occupancy. All retailers and most non-essential businesses may open and operate at 25% capacity. A “retailer” is any business that sells goods directly to the ultimate consumer or end-users and does not include wholesalers or suppliers. Contact any retailers individually before visiting to confirm hours of operation, closured or changes in services. Indoor malls may operate at 25% of maximum occupancy. 
  • Gyms may operate at 50% of maximum occupancy in accordance with COVID-Safe Practices. Group fitness classes are not allowed. 
  • All non-tribal casinos are ordered to close.
  • Houses of worship may operate at 25% capacity.
  • Hair salons, barbershops and nail salons may operate at 25% of maximum occupancy in accordance with COVID-Safe Practices
