, N.M. The Visit Albuquerque (Visit Albuquerque) is proud to announce Senior National Sales Manager Don Griego’s successful completion of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) exam. The CMP credential recognizes individuals who have achieved the highest standard of professionalism in the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry. 

 

In order to achieve CMP designation, applicants must possess at least three years experience in meeting management, earn a minimum number of points on the application and pass the CPM exam.  Additional requirements are required once the exam is passed in order to maintain certification. 

 

Griego joined Visit Albuquerque in October 2004 as a National Sales Manager where he handled non-convention center business in the Western U.S. market.  He was recently promoted to Senior National Sales Manager.  In this position, he works with groups that utilize the Albuquerque Convention Center and is responsible for marketing Albuquerque as a world class meeting destination.

 

Griego is an active member of Meeting Professionals International and has been involved with the New Mexico Society of Association Executives.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Services with a concentration in Special Events Management from New Mexico State University. 

 

By earning the CPM designation, Griego joins an elite group of meeting professionals recognized by the Convention Industry Council including two of his peers at Visit Albuquerque. He completed the CPM exam in late February 2010.
