The International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT) was founded in 1971 by a small group of government officials who wanted a professional organization that would provide a forum for the free exchange of information.

Over the past 40 years, IACREOT has grown to more than 1500 members, representing local, state, provincial, national and international associations and agencies. Members are government officials whose responsibilities fall into one of four divisions – finance, land records, courts and elections.
