First 1,000 Participants Taking the Train get a Commemorative NM Rail Runner Pint Beer Glass!
"This is an opportunity for the Rail Runner to help people explore what's become a very popular and growing trend in Central New Mexico - the craft beer culture", said Jay Faught, Marketing Manager for Rio Metro Regional Transit District. "It's like we've taken a page from a European travel guide and connected the dots from brewery to brewery along the Rio Grande corridor."
Get Inspired with an Alternative Transportation Beer Tour on Saturday, August 1st!
Hop on the train and meet us in Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Staff will be on-site greeting passengers exiting the #703 and #704 trains at the Downtown ABQ Station, and the #704 train at the Santa Fe Depot. To receive your pint glass, just show us your train ticket. The tours either meet at the station, or are a short walk or transit ride away. Staff will also help direct you to the start of your tour.
...or Take your own Guided or Self-Guided Tour on the Rail Runner all Summer into Fall!
People can hop on the train year-round and chart their own self-guided tour to explore new breweries and tap rooms...or they can check out one of the guided craft beer tours. It's easy - during the months of August, September and October, various local companies will be providing special Rails, Trails and Ales guided tours of the breweries. Just visit www.nmrxbrewtour.com and click on Guided Tours. This will bring up the logos of participating companies which you can click on and learn more about the tours being offered.
If you click on Self-Guided Tours, you can make the train your mode of transportation to visit various breweries along our corridor. Each brewery listed on the Brew Tour web page is a short walk, bike or bus ride from a Rail Runner station. Simply click on the brewery logo for directions from the train to the brewery, specials and more!
You can also click on Special Events which will list more organized Brew Tour Events in Albuquerque and Santa Fe that will provide you with ample reasons to jump on the train and spend a day enjoying local sights, sounds and flavors. Many of these events require advance reservations or planning due to their popularity.
