Albuquerque, Friday, January 20, 2012 – FUSION continues its tenth anniversary season with the New Mexico professional premiere of Pulitzer Prize Winner Donald Margulies’ Time Stands Still. FUSION’s production opens at The Cell Theatre on Thursday, March 1st. Reservations are highly recommended for opening night that includes a catered reception beginning at 7:00 p.m. with curtain at 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Margulies’ Tony award nominated play sets a quartet of characters into motion including Sarah, an injured photojournalist just back from Iraq. Placed within the safe haven of a Brooklyn loft, one couple strives for the comfort of family while Sarah and her partner James, compelled by their work as journalists, intersect with the heightened reality of war. The play is a story between friends and lovers that also explores the nature of empathy and giving witness to all that is human, both wretched and exalted. “What we get [in Time Stands Still] is the assiduously impartial, clarifying confrontation of the existential dilemmas that confront all of us." —Bloomberg News.

Time Stands Still is directed by Laurie Thomas and features Jacqueline Reid in the role of Sarah and Gregory Wagrowski as James. They are joined by Kate Costello, and Chicago actor Gary Houston (Albuquerque audiences will remember Mr. Houston from his performances in FUSION productions of Bedbound, The Unexpected Man, and Anna Christie).

Time Stands Still continues through March 15th at its home base*, The Cell, with Thursday through Friday performances at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Our extremely popular downtown employees night is slated for Friday, March 2nd at 6:00 p.m. The final week also features a Wednesday 8:00 p.m. performance on March 14th. Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for students and seniors. Thursday performances (excluding opening night) feature a $10.00 student rush (with valid I.D.) and $20 actor rush (with current union card.) The first Saturday matinee, March 3rd, is a pay-what-you-wish performance. Group discounts are also available. Free parking is plentiful. The Cell is located at 700 1st St. N.W. (just west of Broadway and south of Lomas.)
