The sunset summer Chuckwagon Barbeque and Western Music concerts begin on Saturday, June 14 at Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood. This popular weekly Saturday night stage show runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will be presented every Saturday night through Labor Day weekend (August 30, 2014).

Returning this is year is the talented western swing band of Holy Water and Whiskey. Equally popular and also returning for some of the concerts will be the Buckaretts Band, Mystic Lizard and two-time National Fiddle Champion, Katie Glassman who will open the Annual Music Festival on Friday, July 25th (rather than Saturday that week). Visitors can join along by dancing on the newly constructed dance floor near the performance stage. See Wildlife West's website www.wildlifewest.org for dates of each performer.

Just before the show starts, a special free-flight Peregrine Falcon demonstration will be presented by world-renowned falconer Tom Smylie. The audience will experience these magnificent birds close up and learn how the fastest raptor on earth survives in the wild. A puppet show, created by youth, tells a fun and heart-warming story of other animals in the Park.

Come early, enjoy a hayride and get a rare opportunity to be close to wildlife in their natural habitat. The Wildlife West zoo is home to 26 species of native wildlife, including their newest arrival, a two month old porcupine named Barbie, along with endangered Mexican wolves, cougars, black bear, fox, javelina, hawks, crested caracaras and much more.

Chuckwagon dinner shows are $25/adults, $23/seniors, $12/child 5-11, and kids under 5 are free. Reservations are required by 2 p.m. on the day of the show. It's fun for the entire family. Wildlife West is located just 20 minutes east of Albuquerque, off Interstate-40 and legendary Route 66 in Edgewood. Events are presented in a covered all-weather amphitheater in an old west atmosphere.
