Get there early! Kickoff for New Mexico Bowl II between Nevada and New Mexico is 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, but the bowl day festivities start much earlier. The Acoma Sky City Fan Fest will run from 10 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. in the parking lots to the North and Northeast of University Stadium. This event is a "must attend" for everyone.

With entertainment, food, displays and giveaways, the Acoma Sky City Fan Fest runs the gamut in pre-game entertainment. In fact, this event stands alone as a destination for tailgaters and fans.

"I’m excited about what’s been done with the Acoma Sky City Fan Fest," said Jeff Siembieda, New Mexico Bowl Executive Director. "I really like what the people at Acoma Sky City and our staff have turned this event into. The variety of activities and giveaways is going to make this quite special."

Two stages will feature live entertainment throughout the event. One stage will be dedicated solely to dancing performances. The schedule for the dance stage is:

10:00-11:00 – Duke City Stars

11:00-11:30 – Ms. Teen New Mexico

11:45-12:45 – Acoma Dancers

1:30-2:15 – Albuquerque Thunderbirds Dancers

The other stage, located in parking lot two will be live music. The schedule for that stage is:

10:00-11:30 – Matt Jones

11:30- 12:50 – Ryan McGarvey

1:00 – 2:15 – Powermoves Entertainment (V2, DT Vocal, Kazyan, Justice)

The kids’ corner will be located in the Northeast section of the Acoma Sky City Fan Fest, complete with a giant slide, jumpers and a batman obstacle course. Kids, and even their parents will be able to get their face painted and Fun Time Airbrushed Tattoos will be on hand with spray on tattoos. Oh yes, and Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance. He’ll be in the kid’s corner at noon.

And for the "bigger kids" there will be a full sized obstacle course courtesy of the Army National Guard.

No one will leave the Acoma Sky City Fan Fest empty handed. There will be plenty of handouts and the many displays and a food court with lots of goodies. The Acoma Sky City Fan Fest is just a fire thrower short of a circus.
